ESTIMATION OF WATER BALANCE OF BARSACHHU WATERSHED IN CHUKHA BHUTAN USING REMOTE SENSING AND GIS

The water balance of a watershed is critical for the estimation budget to meet present and future domestic economic demand supply water. Water parameters like precipitation, temperature, evapotranspiration soil moisture content deficit surplus determine which further influenced by factors land use, types, seasonal variation other environmental factors. This paper intends estimate Barsachhu using Thornthwaite Mather (TM) model. use Remote Sensing data GIS as tool were used in deriving required executing study indicates that monthly (deficit or surplus) substantially change rainfall, temperature cover pattern. April October remain months while November March remains period deficit. has different response watershed. maximum annual basin are 126.27 mm 2430.79 respectively observed built-up areas. runoff coefficient computed from simulation TM model 0.63.
